We use only the finest available claro and French walnut...Our walnut is from old growth orchards and besides being highly figured,the moisture content is apprx 7-8%, which is very stable. Some of our blanks are from trees over 80 years old,which produce exceptional figure. We work hard in keeping a great supply of exhibition crotch feather blanks in claro and strong mineral streaking in our exhibition grade French or English walnut.

We offer 2 distinct versions of ammo boxes. The always popular "RANGE BOX" and for the avid hunter, our compact "FIELD BOX". Style and capacity is a choice you can choose. We can make a box specifically to your specs on a special order basis if you prefer. No request to large or small.
HAND SELECT TO EXHIBITION GRADE WALNUT
OPEN RANGE CREATIONS offers graded walnut from hand select to premium exhibition grade claro and French walnut with prices to fit any budget...We use a multi level pricing structure which enables anyone who enjoys beautiful wood to own one of our ammo boxes. They all receive the same high quality of workmanship and materials ..Where the prices differ is in the grade of wood choosen for a particular ammo box...As an example: a 20 round range box for standard rifle caliber in hand select grade 3 claro walnut, using our proprietary finish starts at 160 dollars* US. Magnum calibers are slightly higher. Our hunter line of field boxes,(standard calibers) with a capacity of 4-5 rounds start at 115 dollars* US (Mag calibers are more),with our grade 3 claro walnut and our finish which is 100% water repellent. Pistol caliber ammo boxes are also available and depending on cartridge can support up to 50 rounds,and we can even do an ammo box for 22lr. (POR) ...Our boxes make fantastic gifts for the hunter who has everything...And by the way,we stand behind our creations..
Also,on our Premium line of ammo boxes include a 1 year from date of purchase performance warranty***..We will refinish your box if you happen to scratch or mar the surface at NO CHARGE.**..this way,you never have to worry about using something so beautiful that your scared to take it out hunting or shooting..WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE THE BOX AS IT WAS INTENDED.
